Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry

The mission of Stephen Ministries is to help congregations equip God's people for spiritual growth and Christ-centered practical ministry in today's world. Stephen Ministry became part of our Bethesda Congregation in 1990. We have joined hands with thousands of other congregations and over one hundred denominations. This ministry is named after Stephen in the Bible, whose life and ministry is described in the book of Acts. Stephen was one of the seven persons commissioned by the Apostles to provide caring ministry. There were needs for care in the church and community that the apostles could not meet alone. The church was committed to caring and addressed these needs by involving others in ministry.

The logo for Stephen Ministries shows two persons, one behind the cross how is broken, and one in front of the cross who is in the process of being made whole. This indicates that the cross is the path to healing and wholeness. This ministry has already given spiritual guidance to several people within our congregation
