Ushers are often the first people to greet those who enter the Sanctuary. This is a special ministry that requires skill and dedication, yet is very rewarding. The Head Ushers have designated some Ushers as Captains who direct certain services. Others can sign up on a calendar below for the service they would like to cover with whatever frequency that suits their desire and availability. For example, some prefer to serve for a month and be off for a month while others wish to serve once a month or every other week, etc. Men are encouraged to involve sons as young as twelve to work with them but we still need a number of adults who can carry out the role of “host” in greeting and seating people.
You might like to stop into the Ushers’ Room in the back of the sanctuary and visit with Captains or Head Ushers about procedures and training.
