About Me
I was born on May 29, 1939 in Grand Rapids, MN and grew up in Coleraine, MN, graduating from Greenway High School in 1957. I did my undergraduate work, receiving a B.A. in Biology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1961. I received a certificate of Theological studies from Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, MN in 1964, and a M. A. in Missiology from the School of World Missions at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1970.
I married Helen on August 22, 1964 and together we served a church in Stanwood, WA for one year, In 1965 we went to France for one year to learn French and then went to Chad and Cameroon, Africa where we served as missionaries for 31 years.
During an extended furlough, while our sons were in college we were invited to serve as an assistant pastor at Bethesda from 1987 - 1989. We returned to the mission field and when we finished our time there in 1996, we were called once again to serve as part of the pastoral team at Bethesda. I am currently serving in a part-time capacity. Helen and I were blessed with two sons David and Daniel. They are both married and we have five grandchildren.
My favorite verses are Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:1-2; and II Corinthians 5:21. Hobbies: I am a stamp and coin collector and I enjoy taking pictures of nature (especially mountains and waterfalls).
