Helpful Attributes:
· A heart for worship
· A desire to lead people into the presence of God
· The desire and ability to mentor worship team personnel
Responsibilities:
The contemporary leader has designed the worship set they use, while the traditional leader leads a service planned and related by the Worship Director. He then must identify with the flow designed by another. Pianists and organists also lead in the sense as their skill enables the Worship Leader with the appropriate spirit and tempo required by each hymn or song or appropriate transitions to various elements of the service. Yet another area of leadership is special numbers, usually offertory music, where worshipers worship through the gifts of one or more singing or playing instruments as unto the Lord.
Commitment:
Traditional leaders serve as they are suited and are available. Organists serve by-weekly while pianists serve on a schedule as they suited and are available. Contemporary leaders serve every 4 weeks, always leading the same team as it is scheduled. Special music happens according to Music Schedules. If unable to serve, musicians must switch with another on the schedule or work with Music Director in advance.
