God Sightings

Our Values

Welcome to “God Sightings”!

I am excited to encourage all of you to join in our church-wide venture in 2011 — a commitment and opportunity to read the Bible each day in a personal time of meeting God; seeing Him as He reveals Himself to us in fresh life-giving ways from the pages of scripture; and then seeing Him present and active throughout the day as our eyes for Him are tuned by scripture to recognize Him in creation, relationships, and circumstances around us!  “God Sightings!”

The “God Sightings” bible is arranged in daily readings that make it possible in 15 minutes each day to read the entire Bible in a year, with a reading each day from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and a Proverb.

As a church, our focus in 2011 will be on the Old Testament, but of course you are invited to read it all!  The God Sightings bible we are offering at the Welcome Center ($10) is in the fresh, readable ‘New Living Translation,’ but for those who prefer to use their current Bible we also have printed reading guides for the daily readings.

Pick up an extra God Sightings bible for a friend as a way to invite them to see God!  Tell them you are excited about learning more about the first three-quarters of the Bible, and want to know if they would be interested in reading along & meeting for lunch once a week to discuss.  You don’t have to be an expert!  It’s fine to admit parts of the Old Testament are mysterious, difficult for you.  (Remember, the Word of God is alive & able to change lives, create faith!)

God Sightings wonderfully fits our church C3 vision in all respects.  Reading the scriptures daily, and weekly sermons are a great opportunity to ‘know and grow in Christ.’  The shared experience of searching God’s Word together and joining in family, online, and small group experiences will foster a ‘belonging and caring in Community.’  And, the potential to help a friend "see the One who sees me" (Gen. 16:13) is a great way to ‘share and serve His Cause’!

Looking forward eagerly to seeing God with you in 2011!
